Why is reality TV so faux and formula? The few ACTUALLY realistic shows that have snuck in here and there are usually the ones to watch. This? Not it. Intentional vocal fry is cute when it's used to push a Vibe a la Paris Hilton (ie. Alexis) but it's not meant to narrate a show. I can barely get through an Always Pan commercial, let alone a full episode of two girls utterly lacking in authenticity trying to show how much cooler they are than their surroundings because they can pick out the wallpaper that Instagram thinks is trendy.
My note to Netflix: Life CAN actually be interesting! PEOPLE are out there with legit stories to tell, with actually interesting lives doing actually relevant things! Find them! If you need help, contact me. I know LOTS of them.
Netflix execs... you have an entire pandemic to take advantage of... DO BETTER! Stop just ticking boxes off of the dated, redundant formula sheet. Seriously.
