AWFUL. This is quiet literally one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Off the top it looks like a good holiday movie, after all it has some big names - Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick. It is awful. The little plot it has is absurd, completely implausible, and just boring. The whole premise is that this guy (Danny DeVito) moves to this little town in Massachusetts, and he's unhappy with his life, because he's a really good car salesman, and has a beautiful wife and two daughters, so he decides that he wants to make his house visible from space by putting Christmas lights up. And then his new neighbor (Matthew Broderick) doesn't like the lights, so the two are just fighting the whole movie. It keeps getting setup to be this big prank war movie, but it never happens, so the whole movie just kinda wonders around aimlessly. And the acting is just bad, I mean you'd expect better from Danny DeVito and Matt Broderick, but no. For some characters it just sounds like their actually just reading there lines. And there are some extremely questionable scenes in this movie too. There's this whole scene where Matthew Broderick's character goes to complain to the sheriff, and the sheriff is a cross dresser, and it supposed to be funny or something, like what?????? It's just pointless, it adds nothing to the story, isn't even funny, and kinda really offensive. Then there's this other scene where DeVito and Broderick are literal, actually, no joke cat calling there own daughters!! Not only is it super offensive what there saying about women in this scene, it's their own f**king daughters. And then there's the sheer implausibility of this movie, he wants his house to be seen from space, so he puts up Christmas lights and *spoiler alert* it works. The christmas lights can be seen from space!!!!!!! Just, in conclusion, please don't watch this movie, it not funny, it's boring, cheesy, implausible, and has highly questionable content. Please save yourself this hour and a half, and watch something else, that you'll actually enjoy.
