I happened to pick this up prior to it being published and I have to say, I wasn’t initially WOW’d. However, as I read further, I got more and more into it and it really was quite a page turner. As someone pointed out, there may be some holes from an analytical point of view but for the standard reader it definitely provides a plot that thickens as the story goes on. Kudos to CJ Turner, I’m glad to see it got published. It’s not quite Stephen King-esq but has the same elements and comparing one author to another often feels like apples and oranges. I’ll end this by saying it’s not brilliant or earth-shattering but is definitely a quick read because as the story progresses you become more invested and the twists and turns start to emerge. Are there corny bits? Yes. But all things considered, I really enjoyed this book.
