Beautifully written by one of the nation's premiere novelists. Superbly crafted tale set in 10 days in the June of 1954. Remarkable recreation of an era preceding the author's own birth, it and bears comparison with the works of E. L. Doctorow, which is high praise indeed.

I was surprised by how much I liked this movie, since I am generally not a fan of the action movie genre. The acting is excellent and the visuals are unsurpassed. There is also great depth to the story, and I find myself wanting to remember many of the lines: “A man that has not prepared his children for his own death has failed as a father”. Wow.

Beautifully filmed and acted. A revelation. Jens Jacob Tychson is outstanding, but the whole cast is extraordinary. We’re blown away by this Danish series.
