I enjoy Nick Caves music, scores and other work, and since this book was being filmed in my area, like a lot of others, l bought the book recently. I’m sorry l did. I felt it was poorly written and whilst it had some good descriptive phrases, the content was shocking and difficult to read. Graphic sexual content is not my thing but that alone would not put me off, it’s the degenerative nature of the acts. I hated the protagonist. Whilst that may’ve been the intention, in order that the fantasy epiphany to work, l didn’t feel it was worth my time, and at £10 for a paperback, my money either. It’s a good job he can write music.
