A decent popcorn movie. It's a step up from the 2019 film, so, third best film. Hellboy and Bobbie Jo Song are stranded after their train derails. And they stumble across an evil entity known as the Crooked Man terrorizing this small knit community in Appalachia. It's fun for what it is. Jack Kesy's version of the character is better than David Harbour's version. He's more serious than slapstick compared to Harbour and Perlman.
This movie was clearly made on a shoestring budget in order for the studio to keep the rights for a few more years. This change of pace compared to the other three films may be jarring for some as Del Toro aimed for the high caliber fantasy aspect and Marshall aimed for blood and guts in his entry. But, I feel this change of pace worked quite well.
