I was really disappointed in this movie. Putting the CGI to one side the characters and storyline was not believable from the swearing to the lack of any real military standards of discipline. There is no way this sort of behaviour would have happened in 1940 England.
The Portrayal of English officers as incompetent bullying mysogenistic thugs was unnecessary and offensive to their memory. Also the suggestion of poor performance of non Polish pilots in combat was equally unnecessary. Why does identity politics creep into everything these days where the gallant oppressed (Polish) are bullied by the evil oppressors (English)
If the movie had a military advisor the Director was sadly let down as it come across as a bunch of undisciplined civvies in uniform.
So many of the facts were plain wrong too - how could 149 pilots be 20% of RAF Fighter Command as stated at the end of the film? There were 2927 Battle of Britain pilots of which 80% were British and 20% Empire (mainly NZ, Aussies, Canada & South Africa) plus the conquered European nations. The Polish did a brilliant job which is well recognised and celebrated but let’s not slag off the British or fail to recognise the other nationals.
