Watched a gorgeous Tamil movie, yes it is gorgeous, yesterday on Netflix. Meiyazhagan staring Arvind swami and Karthi comes as a breath of fresh air after a long string of mediocrity from the Tamil industry (a few broke out of that mould though). It is a wonderfully written and enacted movie weaving through human emotions with great poise. It was so nice to see and enjoy the language, setting and people and every scene looked like a painting in motion. I quickly overcame the disappointment of Vettaiyan and the horror of Goat with no effort after watching this movie. Made by kids meant for kids. Screenplay is tacky and dialogues are cheesy. Recommend One time watch if nothing else to do

Malayalam movie industry has been churning out wonderful movies based on strong scripts and good casting the last dozen years. Every time I see one of those movies, I wonder how it can get better. And every time I see the next one, I get the answer. Thallu maala takes this malayalam movie watching experience to a whole new level. Despite having absolutely thin storyline, fresh presentation, spot on acting and diction and crsip screneplay, this movie ups the ante for the industry. Tovino is having a blast playing Wazim. The supporting actors are wonderful. Special mention to Shine Tom Chacko who shines in every scene he appears in. The last 40 minutes of the movie is gripping ala Angamaly diaries. Go for it, enjoy the ride and cherish the moments you pick from it. Listen to the soundtrack on your way back and it will be hard to not keep smiling.
