This was a very readable , engaging account of a real event in Maine in 1947. An entire town burned down after a summer drought.
It seemed impossible, but it really happened. The story focuses on the lives of two young mothers and the devastation they experienced together. It is an incredible story and a very credible retelling of how lives can be forever changed as a result of one event!
