That’s plain and simple. This might be a bad parallel but nobody turned SpongeBob into a live action series, and lots of people hated the live action death not. Another possibly terrible parallel: nobody is out their repainting the Mona Lisa with a new twist. Rick and Morty is art and the creator didn’t make it an anime from the beginning because that wasn’t his perception of what it should be
