Absolutely wonderful Movie 5/5
I watched Strange World with my siblings and we all thought it was amazing. I thought that the story was well thought and the plot twist at the end was exciting, although slightly predictable since they had a lot of hints throughout the movie. Basically the only complaint I had was that a couple of the characters were kind of bland, but otherwise an absolutely spectacular movie.
Now to be honest a large reason I decided to leave a review is because of all the 1 star reviews. You should NOT read the 1 star reviews for this movie because I red them for a solid 30 minutes and almost 100% of them were just uncomfortable by the representation of the interracial couple and the openly gay teen protagonist, which I thought was awesome that they had that representation. Although I do think that the key to a perfect Disney movie is having no romance, (see Moana, Ralph Breaks The Internet, and Brave, which are some of my favorite Disney movies.) that does not give you the excuse to get wierded out by the gay teen! That's how the producers wanted to make this movie, and you need to respect that!! Additionally, if you are uncomfortable by the interracial couple, just stop.
To all of the people who said that they hated explaining the gay couple to their kids, I will give you this scenario: If the kid asks why the guy likes the guy, you say this: sometimes guys like girls and sometimes guys like guys. ITS LITTERALY THAT SIMPLE. I you don't want to go into depth about the lgbt community, that's your call, but there is absolutely no reason to get uncomfortable about something that is now normal today.
Again, Strange world was a wonderful movie with a story that gets going pretty fast, is interesting the whole way through, and has a meaningful ending.
…either fix yourselves or get lost, homophobes.
