Chanel Miller could have given us a heartfelt memior about the trauma and healing she experienced after being raped at Stanford.
Instead, she gave us a poignant book that examines how we as people respond and recover from trauma.
The book is not just an invitation to understand the experience of victims in the criminal justice system, and Chanel's experience in particular with rape, trauma, and recovery. She also guides the reader compassionately through the gordian knot of human emotion and personal growth.
I am purchasing a personal copy to keep, lend, and reread. Miller's writing is beautiful and moving, with a well-crafted narrative. I look forward to reading anything else she writes, on any topic.
