I found this book most compelling. Maria Avraam definitely had her cross to bear, and she did so with dignity. She suffered in silence preferring to write in her journals about her life, the humiliations, the disappointments, the trauma but also of her achievements, raising her three beautiful children. Her story to be told to them when she was ready. She showed strength and tenacity and never gave up on herself. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am happy that she allowed Helena to publish her story. An inspiration to all women.
