For those who remember and love the books - this is not for you. Apart from the character names and Kirrin Island - nothing bears any resemblance to the original story. Shameful use of a beloved Children's classic to draw in an audience. Jack Gleeson's acting is so over the top and hammy, while Flora Jacoby Richardson as Anne was like finger nails down a blackboard.
