Honestly the book left much to be desired it was very plain in all honesty and boring. The show was much better and I think it truly showed off character development through the series. If you only read this to see Bellamy and Clarke get together like I did then you will be dissatisfied as I feel like they don’t give much away about them together. If you wanna read about them together I recommend going on wattpad to read on of the fanfics they are much better with getting the personalities connected and really going into detail with their relationship together. Also i’m one of those people who when I watch a show or a movie and then read the book I typically end up loving the book more but the story telling here is frankly very bland, I’ve read the first three books hoping that it would get better but my hope fell flat.
