I enjoyed it. On the whole, it seems to me the acting is just fine. It was easy for me to suspend reality and believe these characters were saying and doing everything in the moment.
Something kept gnawing at me though, kept tripping me up. Am I wrong about the acting, and this is actually just a ham fest? Is this a swing and a miss by the director who "missed it by 'that' much" in scene after scene? Is it the dialogue that just keeps getting in the way? About 5/8ths of the way through, the music became entirely film noir, so maybe that's what they were going for?
Like I said, I can't quite put my finger on "it," and I did enjoy it. Glad I didn't have to pay extra to see it.
