My stars are low because overall the film is dull, and easily could have been much shorter. If you bore easily, or hate art films totally skip this one. HOWEVER, it is a very good film and premise, so may be worth checking out as a film to study.
For everyone else, let me just give a minor spoiler (it will not affect your viewing), then watch it. It is more interesting having that perspective.
Something evil has taken over a home. We are then given the perspective from the very small, young children as things play out. They can’t reach light switches, understand anything, make sense of all of it.
It’s a slow torturous burn with dark imagery, confused and scared kids you mostly only hear, sounds that get under your skin, and more that will make more sense as the movie progresses. If you have the patience you’ll respect it.
No slash, gore, jumps, action, possession…blah, blah, blah here.
If it just had a little more cohesion and editing and it would be 5 stars instead of 2 from me. Big factor to me.
