Not everything about it is my thing. I was never big into the "we're familyyyyy..!" trope, which is perhaps the single most prominent and heavy handed theme of the entire show. But they don't do it *poorly,* so if somebody likes that, this should be their jam.
I have some other issues with some of the writing, texture work, facial models for the humans... But it's pretty small fry stuff. Overall the show is well written with fantastic animation and fight choreography, its post-war setting is refreshing, and it has a lot of important messaging. Which seems to be increasing in importance again, with today's political climate seeing so many people and even elected politicians going into a full blown, open rage against immigrants and various minority groups.
