I honestly think, the people who voted 5 stars and give extreme compliments are paid or just trolls. Aside from its general structure, it's almost irrelevant to books. As a classical tv series about space and the future with lots of cliches, Foundation could be 6 out of 10. But the moment you include the Foundation of Isaac Asimov, it becomes a disgrace for such a masterpiece. I won't get into too much detail. I don't care about the 'woke culture' or 'forced feminism'. If you are so woke etc. just do your own masterpiece and show us, don't ruin other's piece of art.
Also for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about when mentioning The Foundation as a masterpiece; it's a book series that competed with The Lord of the Rings and receive a special Hugo Award for "Best All-Time Series". Also writer, Asimov mentioned that he assumed the one-time award had been created to honor The Lord of the Rings, and he was amazed when his work won. So that's what The Foundation is. Not some science fiction series but a futuristic fantasy about math, psychology and history.
This is not even a criticism yet but facts.
And here is the biggest twist: the clearest impression you get after reading The Foundation is there is no such a thing as a hero or chosen one who surprises everyone and becomes a figure who affects the history, actually, also there shouldn't be such a figure. And guess what happens in tv-series that is inspired by this?
Also, there was a part I was particularly interested in; it was about a great commander of The Empire who march against The Foundation. He was saying something like "Against a dead man's curse, an alive man's will. We will see who will be victorious.". And he has lost and killed by The Empire. The book mentioned that as "He was destined to lose. He couldn't get any support from Empire if he wasn't great. And if he was that great, Empire couldn't let him be, because he was a bigger thread for The Empire than The Foundation in their eyes.".
Why am I so frustrated? Because I had so much hope for this tv-series. It had the potential of overshadowing Star Wars. And they abandon this chance for what? A few more dollars with the contamination of a masterpiece.
