What a wonderful book, I was captivated from the first paragraph. I fell in love with Adunni, the main character, who was such an amazingly courageous and sweet natured girl, despite the incessant knock-backs during her young life in Nigeria. The author wrote Adunni so well, the reader is wholeheartedly routing for her every step of the way. I listened to the audio version and the performance of the narrator was stupendous, really excellent. She gave each character a voice which brought it all to life.. I confess I shed more than one tear. A real epic story of perseverance against all odds - ‘tomorrow will be a better day’. I urge you to read or even better, listen to Adjoa Andoh read it with such skill.
