The Maidens is good, not great. It is too much and too thin. Too many red herring characters, not well connected; while at the same time, the main characters were not developed. Good setting, loved the images of Cambridge and the Backs and it certainly was engaging… pretty much read it in one sitting just because I wanted to get all the hints straightened out…
