Why does the absentee dad have a southern accent if he's supposed to have been a NY DJ? Why does JR take a cab to North Carolina? Hack move to pass a sign that reads "Welcome to North Carolina". Am I to believe he took a flight to a neighboring state and then took a cab to go see his dad? At the movie's end, why take a car to Manhattan? Just sloppy storytelling. I'd rather point out this kind of thing than comment on the movie, as I didn't get the point of making it in the first place. Oh wait, it's a tender coming of age story. Begrudgingly, I'll admit that Ben Affleck is good.
