I'm halfway through it.
And by the stars above, this resonates with my very soul. Kazuko's almost hopeless narration, the wanderings of Naoji's mind- not to mention, the fact that Naoji's words resonate with the soul's most concealed conpartment- the Mother's steadfast calmness throughout- this is truly beautiful and surprisingly wonderful. It wanders like a thought, a darker thought left to devices unbeknownst to us, and it tastes of sharp, crisp realisation, sharp as that of cold, naturally occurring fresh and clean water from some mountain. It's coloured by whites piercing to the eye and deep blues that remind one of the ocean's endless depth.
This takes a part of my soul, I do believe.
