This book...is just a no no for me. I love history and reading so I was a bit excited to read it. But now my eyes feel so heavy reading it. It was slow paced, nothing really exciting. The part where his hand gets burned and becomes the 'twist' in his life just wasn't good. You can't even imagine what it looks like from the aftermath. I could not imagine the setting, characters, anything because there really wasn't much of a description. There's no character development overall and you can't like the 'main' characters. Who even knows who the 'main' characters are. It's basically just Johnny, which is completely fine. But there's a ton of characters that just drown out all there ties and everything. The scene changes are the worse honestly. One second their talking about work and then the next, he's suddenly talking to the president (None of that happens). The story over all is confusing, don't even understand how Johnny got too meet all these 'big characters in the war'. Johnny and Cilla's relationship is just..confusing. Originally I thought Cilla had goo goo eyes for Johnny and then when he leaves he suddenly has feelings for her. The book is just..bad in my opinion.
