They changed MAJOR aspects of the movie. Even the songs are mediocre and markedly different. We had a developmentally disabled gentleman so excited for the movie in front of me! I was Jazzed because of his enthusiasm!
He was quietly singing “ under the sea” and bringing my mood up significantly. When the new “version” began he was excited, but sadly half way through he was completely deflated…
It crushed me. The look of disappointment and dejected shuffling at the ending was the final nail in the coffin.

Little Mermaid is in my opinion as hurtful to one generation as it hopefully will be beneficial for the new one.
