Diabolical in nearly every way. Static players, massively unreliable passing, 90% of shots straight at the keeper even when finessed, low-driven or just power hit. Keepers are too hard to beat in this game partially due to this, getting past the defence is hard enough with players that make runs on the wrong side of defenders and through balls that go to the wrong side of the attackers. The switching feature is horrifically bad, this has caused me a huge number of problems in this game - I switch manually as many do - and I’m constantly being switched to a player lateral to the attack rather than goal side which is useless while I’m being ran at with a 90+ pace player. “Assisted passing” only assists the opposing team, by often going in a direction 90 degrees from the direction you’re holding the analog stick toward. Defenders are completely static in most scenarios, don’t track back whatsoever and are likely to move in the wrong direction without your control. Many goals conceded have been from a rebound that defenders have failed to get to or have just completely ignored. The refereeing - wow. The rule book must have been changed in this fifa because my oh my it is absolutely dreadful. I have had players sent straight off the field for being ran in to by the opposition, or for a fair shoulder to shoulder challenge. This is made even worse by how bad the tackling is - your options are slide or lunge out in a direction, both of which cause your player to slow down or pause and neither of which are viable options for a quick, clean steal of the ball. You’ll find a lot of the time you’ll tackle a player only for them to walk off with the ball anyway. Overall there doesn’t seem to be many - if any mechanics in the game fully functional and pleasing to use. This is the single worst gaming, not just fifa, experience I have ever had. It’s not a finished game, and nothing about it justifies the £60 price tag plus all the extras you spend on fifa points. I feel as if I have been robbed of my hard earned money and provided with an unfinished, sub-par product. Couldn’t recommend any less.
