Overall, the story and movie as a whole was lovely. But it was the songs I wasn’t a huge fan of. They didn’t feel complete… almost like they were demos. I watched the movie 20 minutes ago and I can’t name any song that I remember; nothing stuck to me. I think the trailer gave the movie a completely different message then what it actually was. That was what drew me to the movie. Admittedly, the first 40 minutes or so disappointed me. However, small scenes in the movie are what I liked, especially when Cyrano was talking to Roxanne on the balcony through Christian. That scene was beautiful. That’s what I thought the whole movie would be- his unrequited love. But I feel like Cyrano’s beautiful love for Roxanne was overshadowed by other aspects in the movie. While I may have been slightly disappointed, Peter’s performance was wonderful. As was Hayley Bennet and Kelvin Harrison’s voices.
