Blue beetle is a fun movie about a lesser known DC character, Its like they brought Jaime Reyes’s character onto the big screen straight from the comics. Xolo Mariduena did and excellent job as the character and really brought out the charm and charisma of the character. He was a superhero whether he liked it or not and came to accept his destiny in the end. The family played a huge role in the movie and they all got their chance to shine, it literaly felt like they were an actual family. The representation in Blue Beetle for Mexican, Mexican-American, and latino people was spot on! Coming from a Mexican, This movie really hits close to home with the representation, It felt like my family was up there on the big screen, I could really connect to what was in the movie and it felt amazing. Nothing felt too exaggerated or stereotypical, it all felt simply real! As for the main villains in the movie, Carapax was a decent Supervillain with a tragic backstory, on the other hand, victoria kord was definitely a generic villain who could have been written a little better. Her character didnt really have much interesting about her, but still she made for a worthy villain. Blue Beetle has amazing action scenes and pretty colors, and the special effects are beautiful. This movie is definitely a fun watch for your family, while its not perfect, it has heart, emotion, action, and love.
