I am of the belief that human rational as it has so developed is unable to come close to explain the creation of the universe.
Religion is a useful tool by which to live one’s life ,so be it a moral and caring code, for those who need it.
Through the centuries all sorts of gods were worshipped. Through the centuries people died in the defense of their god. Societies discarded a number of their gods.
Having read historical books that had the purpose to prove that man wrote the Bible , right now I am convinced he did and in an effort to develop a moral code of conduct for civilization and to try to explain the unknowns of life.
Science has progressively answered questions that biblical myths have offered to answer the unknown. That is an on going process.
For the theologians who at this point try to justify a creational god, I can only say this. What organized society on earth did not have a leader ? Is it not human rational that there should be a leader who created the universe ? Can we really even understand infinity ?
This book is quite sophisticated in discussing the Bible and physical science. If anything I am quite impressed with the English translation of the Bible in such articulate flowery language written millennials ago.
This is another book which tries to justify the relationship of man to the belief in a God. If it makes people who read it feel better about their religious belief, what is wrong with that ? But in the end I found it to be a feeble attempt to its set purpose.
