If you like Harry Potter you might like this. I found it childish and more suitable for CBBC or the early evening “Dr Who” slot than Sunday prime time. Having said this, it was both puerile and yet dark, as title implies. Might appeal as nostalgic to younger adults who read the books when teenagers. Seems like old skool teenage goth fodder! But ultimately, incomprehensible and not very grown up. Still longing for a decent, intelligent adult drama series without gratuitous sex and violence.
