FIFA has been my favorite game since FIFA08. Division 1 seasons in 14,15,16,17,18,19. This game is so atrocious it offends me. Passing is trash - impossible to thread the needle or even make short passes in tight spaces. Best option is overhead through balls to the wings as the wingbacks are basically always out of position and getting beat regardless of pace/quality. Defensive AI has been lobotomized. Defenders will literally turn away from the ball coming at them whilst making no challenge. Other times they seemingly make superhuman heroic blocks after covering 8+yards in two unreal steps. Basically the key to defending is using right stick to switch defenders whilst holding A. If you dare to challenge with B, you'll likely see your defender make a 'my life depends on this' type desperation challenge after which he needs 5 seconds to recover. All defenders are susceptible to the almighty 1-2 pass whereby the attacker (with pace) runs unmarked past even the likes of T. silva and VVD. Corners were ruined, good luck scoring from one. Penalties are unnecessarily difficult. Forget about scoring a free kick with the new idiotic mechanics. Attacking is fine, mostly because of watching the total ineptitude of the defenses. Though the defenders and keepers do seem to make the most ridiculous and heroic blocks, as i mentioned above. Ultimate team is a blatant money grab. Online sucks, not because I lose, rather it's a struggle to watch both teams deal with the total defensive ineptitude and give up cheese goals galore. This game offends me so much I'll likely never buy another edition of FIFA, and perhaps any other EA offering. I hope to watch EA's stock price continue to slide as they alienate more gamers by desecrating formerly beloved titles.
