Imtiaz Ali movies are always interesting to watch as he has an unique & artistic way of telling a love story of flawed characters. His stories always transcend the time. I believe they are always ahead of the time when compared to the audience of the actual release dates. Meaning, not every one understands or enjoys the deeper context of his stories, the conflicts and struggle of his characters who have to bear through multiple subliminal emotions throughout the movie.
Most find Jab We Met his best work. Undeniably so, because of the 'bubbly' Geet's outward persona (which in reality shadowed her inner struggle of knowing what to really want) made it easy for movie watchers to connect easily stating JWM as his most entertaining work. While Rockstar, Socha Na Tha or even Tamasha failed to make mark - these movies now enjoy a cult following. Rest of his movies are equally riveting, but in my humble opinion, this Love Aaj Kal, is somewhere after these four, along with the original one from 2009.
Simply put - don't read/listen to the social media nonsense and other's opinion. While there could be some improvements (some trimming/tighter screenplay), it is still all heart, and worth watching for the brand Imtiaz Ali. Then feel free to share your views as you perceive it.
