I was expecting a good weekend fare from the show since the trailer showed a lot of promise and reminded me of another great korean drama on Netflix titled "Kingdom". Sadly, I was left terribly disappointed with a flimsy story, cartoonish zombies and predictable scares. The actors have done a good job, but the script has failed them repeatedly. Certain scenes like the one where an officer reasons the lady commander's hair turning completely white on account of shock makes the viewer feel stupid and amused. All in all, Beetal is a lazy attempt at making a zombie thriller which has resulted into an avoidable and silly horror story. If you want a real weekend scare I suggest you check out "Kingdom" on Netflix.
