I've been a Cohort for quite some time. My first read by Colleen was Finding Cinderella. It hooked me and I needed to read more so I jumped in and built my collection of her works. When Verity released I was ecstatic! I enjoy romance novels but mystery/ suspense - those are my true loves so Verity promised to be the best of both worlds. I bought it when it first released but only just read it and sadly, I was very disappointed. It didn't pull me in, the plot felt forced, and it became clear from the start that mystery/suspense isn't really her forte. I didn't believe the budding romance, I didn't feel the tension and nerves of suspense and the mystery was eh. Not her best work imo. Still love her as an author but think I'll stick to her regular romance works and steer clear of her attempts at cross genres.
