Why are people so mad about this movie you may ask. 1. Because it is not a WOKE movie 2. Because they expected a different movie. They expected this movie to be about a charming and happy Marilyn Monroe filled with accomplishments and a successful career, rather than about Norma Jeane, girl who rose to fame who had a sad and disturbing life behind the hollywood “perfect” life. I’m sorry but the people who say this movie is sexist, grotesque, violent they fail to understand that IT IS A MOVIE, and not about Marilyn, but about Norma, it is depicting the reality of her life. Perhaps they where expecting this film to be a kids movie? A documentary? We’ll never know. This is a movie with an excellent cinematography, a great script and a great cast. Ana de Armas was just brilliant playing her role, it made the film and Norma come to life. The only thing I would say is a bit problematic about this movie is that it does have an anti-abortion message, the fetus talking her into not aborting was just ridiculous, and it ridiculized the movie for me, as well, it portrayed abortion as unsafe . But besides that, everything was really spot on, the symbolism and the scenes having so much depth and meaning turn this film into a true masterpiece.
