On today’s show there was a prolonged discussion about the interaction between Travis Kelce and Andy Reed. They were all in agreement that that was not an appropriate way to act for Travis.
Getting loud during an excited moment or shouting while your emotions are high is a normal and acceptable means of communication. What matters is what was said. The message from Travis to the coach was “keep me in” “I’m will score”. There was no foul language used, and nothing derogatory in what he said. In the end the coach and player have great respect for each other.
Look at other sports, shouting between players and coaches goes on all the time. In baseball managers have always yelled at the umpires. It is always about the call and in the end they respect each other.
Maybe part of the issue is the way the media portray the situations on television. They make it look personal. I think this type of communication is acceptable when it is not personal. CBS is wrong to portray it as a personal attack towards Andy Reed. Television broadcasts and television news and talk shows are wrong to be showing and repeatedly talking about it. Don’t make an issue out of a situation that really is nothing to see.
