The director specifically went out of his way to throw out an enormous middle finger to everyone- fans of DC and fans of the first movie alike.
Not only did he dismemeber everything the first movie set out to do, but the integrity of the character and his improvements/accomplishs were put to absolute shame.
The hate the director felt for the first film and potentially being forced to make another felt extremely apparent.
