Love the show, but watching it has me so disillusioned about our system of justice. This of course isn’t Dateline’s fault, it’s just frequent and happens now more often that “plea deals” occur when the evidence exists. The Shaughnessy murder blew my mind. All four of the people involved got plea deals! The evidence was there, so why!? The prosecuting attorney, Amy Meredith now is Attorney General. Seems like she was more concerned with the number of “wins” at any cost to inflate her record and assure that position. 120 days of probation for Nicks wife-really!!!? I don’t know how Dateline can stand this and not want to call out the apathetic self serving prosecutors!! I’ll continue to enjoy your show, but maybe the “only” bad guys are not the ones the police arrest-but are within the courts! I thought Texas was especially tough on capital crime. I guess a prosecutor with her own agenda trumps justice.
