First of all, I am curious why this limited series is named “The Frog.” In fiction, a frog might be portrayed as having characteristics or behaviors that mirror human concepts of morality or justice, but this is a literary device rather than a reflection of the frog’s actual nature.
Netflix is a platform for mature productions, including movies, dramas, stand-up comedies, and many documentaries in various languages. So, yes, it feels like a reliable source of drama.
“The Frog” is a Netflix production in Korean, with dubbing in several other languages. The series is a mix of crime, thriller, and mystery. It follows a psychopathic girl who arrives at Onbit Natural Recreation Forest in Nonsan, Chungcheong Province. Named Yoo Seong-a, she stays in a vacation house and feels suspicious from the very first day.
Yoo Seong-a murders her husband’s son and later a few other people. She also attempts to kill the vacation house owner and his daughter. Ultimately, she is caught and killed by her husband. Most of her scenes are with Kim Yoon-seok, who undeniably looks cool and handsome. Their chemistry is amazing.
I liked the story, direction, acting, and most importantly, the captivating scenery. However, I felt that the series had a tendency to drag, as some scenes seemed unnecessarily prolonged. I also believe the story could have been elegantly wrapped up in 5 or 6 episodes. Nevertheless, overall, it’s a good watch and an interesting drama.
I recommend this Netflix production, which is also available with Hindi dubbing. Go and enjoy it!
