I would have given this show 5 stars....All actors were great. awesome story plot twists. Great period piece sort of...in fact i liked season 2 way better than first season. With season 1 really feel like socialist meeting scenes was not needed at all for the story and possibly added just to pander. Another scene added for no reason, Religous leader shown blessing a beating of a man by police? To never have this priest used again through the whole 2 seasons. Look this show pushes alot of boundries which is good. I just wonder why you had to check every woke box if it seems forced into the story. I just feel like it could have been more, by using less of these scenes. So let me say Alienist would have been better if it didnt have what almost felt like propaganda through out. Season 2 was better because it did not feel forced . Hollywood, At&t, HBO, Max, if all new series and movies have forced propaganda you lose half of your audience.
