Hollywood takes a centuries old tale and whitewashes it to make it palatable to first; movie executives and then those that think the conjuring and the resulting films scary. It was formulaic in that one can count the beats to the next "scare," the resulting film was not scary in any way, shape or form, rather it's a jumbled mess of a film that tries to make sense of its superstition mixed with "modern" folks that doesn't really find any cohesion, I'd rather have watched Wonder Park a 1st and 2nd time than this dreck.
