It is so obvious that she was not ready or didn't want to be a mother, and it was somewhat forced upon her. Of course she resented her son. She never should have had him, but that's not her fault.
The only blame that can be placed on the parents is not getting psychological help for Kevin at an early age, but Eva was actively being gaslit by her husband and the doctor we saw in the one scene.
The fact that the whole town hated her made me so angry. She was just as much a victim of Kevin as were the fatalities and their families, if not more so because he tormented her from the moment he was conceived.
