Read the book this was based on or watch Dopesick. This was terrible, not least because of the unnecessary layering of graphics and sound to represent emotions the characters are having, but that aren't conveyed by the actors. The actress playing Shannon Shaefer is wooden, and even Uzo Aduba's performance couldn't save this series. The ghost of Arthur Sackler is a laughable tool to interrogate what might have been going through his nephew's head. Honestly, this watched like an undergrad film project.
