I think this show isn’t as bad as some of these reviews say, but it is also quite overrated. Most of the negative reviews here are written by children who just repeat the bigotry and hate that their parents taught them, or just really dumb adults who can’t spell. One of the things I like about this show is how diverse it is. I hate how people get angry over Clyde’s dads, or Luna having a girlfriend, because believe it or not, your children are going to see a gay couple at least once in their lives. I know. Shocker. What if a child with two moms or dads sees this? It would feel nice for them to see someone else with parents like theirs. And people who are LGBTQ+ can see people like themselves on the screen. It’s nice.
The concept for the show is unique, some of the plot lines are cute and heartwarming. Although most of it is potty humor, some of it is actually quite funny (I’m a fan of Luan’s jokes, because I love stupid puns). Most of the characters, while flawed, are generally good, kind people.
Now, there are some things I don’t like about the show, one of these being the stereotypes. Cell phone obsessed teenager. Dumb blonde. Annoying goth girl. Super-smart nerd (with glasses, of course). Yawn. While some of the episodes are great, others are very boring, especially the ones that revolve around the parents. Lincoln honestly got worse as the series progressed. At the beginning he was one of my favorite characters because we had a lot in common, now he’s just annoying. Like many other Nickelodeon series (Spongebob, for instance), the writing got worse as it went on. Not all newer episodes are bad, however, and not all older episodes are great. This is just in general.
And, for the love of God, please please please do not let your children search this online. The fandom is very toxic. I found this out the hard way.
TL;DR
The Loud House is a great series that teaches kids diversity and acceptance (and can be funny too), but it’s writing has gotten worse as the series progressed, and it has a bad online fandom.
Also, excuse me if there are any grammatical errors, I am writing this on my phone.
