Finally decided to give this a watch. I should mention I turned it off after 2 hours of watching Pitt behave like a child. For such an interesting concept of death disguising itself as a human, it just turns into another boring romantic movie with absolutely no chemistry between Pitt and Susan. There was so much to explore and could’ve been thought provoking but rather I get a three hour movie that could’ve been easily shaved to an 1 hr and 45 min or 2 hours max. The directing is subpar because there was not one memorable shot or sequence in the whole movie. The script is lacking substance and character work like we do not get to explore Anthony Hopkins character enough. All we know of him is that he is the stereotypical rich guy who puts business before family and has to come to grip that he is going to die soon. Two stars and that’s only because Anthony Hopkins is in it. *** Can I also add that we are tired of the trope of the only black person being somehow in touch with spirits and noticing how weird Pitt is. It doesn’t take much to see he is obviously not normal.
