Shows Napoleon as who he truly was, a deeply troubled, in some ways insane, person who reached positions of power, and then lost his mind, but had enormous power over the people due to his truly Julius Cesar like persona that simply made people believe in him, whether he was right or wrong.
Yes, a lot of history has to be cut, and that's true, we are missing tons of time and detail, but what we are not missing is who those people were and how they acted, and why they changed history. The persona of Napoleon was more than adequately recreated, as well las many of the people around him.
