Awesome cyberpunk crime noir thriller. Fantastic animation and an interesting storyline.

Ok so the writing and or the acting is a bit uneven and certainly leaning towards dramatic and heavy handed. But, it's true to the source material while also expanding on the character development which was lacking in the novels. Also, obviously the actors are good looking... It's a TV show.

This is one of the worst movies I've ever watched.

Have to say that i'm overall quite disappointed in this game. I have played pretty much all of the metal gear series of games, all of which i really likes so i was really excited to get my hands on this. I just finished it yesterday and i'm just not impressed. Let me break it down: Inventive and original storyline. But the delivery falls totally flat. Acting is great but the writing just feels inauthentic and didn't pull me into the story. None of the characters felt relatable and some of the lines made me straight up cringe (ie. "I'm fragile but i'm not that fragile"). Graphics and landscape are beautiful. The characters look pretty similar, though, to metal gear characters. Die-hardman could straight up have bev a snake boss. The gameplay. Oh boy. Absolutely terrible. Cumbersome, frustrating, arduous and overall NOT AT ALL FUN. I get it, Kojima is going for something different and not "action driven" but the inventory management is lame (totally detracts from gameplay to have to stop, drop an empty item and continue fighting a BT). Plus, you just wind up auto-sorting every time you open the map to figure out where you're going. The missions are repetitive, the boss fights are lame. The controls are uninspired. Even in metal gear, where combat was not the emphasis of the game, kojima made the gameplay fun, whether it was having to adjust your camoflauge, forage for food for stamina, scout enemy movements or engage in stealth combat and sneaking. Here, you just do your best to avoid engaging enemies by literally building roads and driving by as fast as you can because, god forbid you trip over a rock, you drop all your gear and just have to pick it all up. Plus there's hardly any opportunity for stealth because it's all open landscape with a little bit of tall grass. There's no way to enhance your camouflage, duck behind cover and the weapons (save for the rope) are all loud as hell. Not that ant of that matters because the BTs don't even react when you throw a grenade at their neighbor. Lame, lame, lame! Overall i am giving 3 stars due to cool storyline and cinematics. Not worth playing. Just wait for someone to patch together a youtube video of all the cutscenes and save yourself the heartache of tripping over a rock and having your controller scream and cry at you.
