I watched Grey's Anatomy last night as I always do. While I love the show and it's characters, I think I've found what is wrong with the beloved drama. It's not funny anymore!
I'm currently watching a re-run from Season 8; in this show, there are plenty of people who have life-threatening or life-changing diseases and/or accidents. But guess what else I'm seeing - funny one-liners! Even Owen, our stoic, way-too-serious but lovable surgeon/husband/former chief had a great line. He walked in to a room, closed the blinds and grabbed a bully who had previously attacked and offended several people in the ER - and he grabbed him by his WIRED jaw! He told the guy off and as he walked out, he said, "you have a great recovery now!". There were plenty of dramatic scenes but the one just cited was not only funny, it wasn't the only laugh in the show. That's what is missing from the current Grey's! Think about it, writers!!
