Witnessing a human being’s healing through the love and trust of a most unlikely animal, a cephalopod who is highly intelligent, brave, wily, seductive and clever has brought me to tears. From a fear that he was coming apart and not being strong for his family his relationship with an octopus was metamorphic in creating a life lesson for himself and a powerful connection to the sea for his son Tom with potentially a lifetime career. It was magical.
