How does this happen/this isn't right/part of the story is missing?
1)If the lady has the property tax receipts for the property, then the county has acknowledged her as a owner. How does this happen without the county giving her notice?
2) Part of this is a ruling that the land is "abandoned" and/or undeveloped making the actions of the developers legal. Looks like between the fishing operation, the club, etc... it was in use.
3)How do two men spend 8 years in a county lockup without some level of higher judicial review as to appropriateness? At the very least the cost of incarcerating them should be a matter of interest for other taxpayers.
4)It would appear that a few lawyers took advantage of her. Who are they? They need to be exposed.
5)Can she get some high visibility help from someone in the media?
6)You gotta have a will. Otherwise the inheritance gets equally divided to the next generation. Eventually 60+ acres is in the hands of 20 or 30 or 40 people with predicable results.
7)Can you see the actions of the county to raise additional tax revenue vs looking out for its citizens?
8)Ask an experienced realtor. They can give you a place to start regarding rules/regulations/the law for real estate before shelling out lots of cash to a lawyer.
